Terms of Service

Computarak ("Computarak," "we," "us," or "our") operates computarak.com (the "Platform"), a marketplace where people in Jordan can list, browse, and message each other about PCs and PC components. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Platform. By creating an account or using the Platform, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy.

You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract under Jordanian law to create an account. Each person may hold only one account. You're responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for everything that happens under your account. Tell us immediately at support@computarak.com if you believe your account has been compromised.

Computarak is a venue for buyers and sellers to find each other and negotiate — it is not a store, and it does not process payments or hold funds.

• Computarak takes 0% of any sale. We never touch the money exchanged between a buyer and a seller.
• All payment (cash, CliQ, or otherwise) happens directly between the buyer and seller, in person.
• Computarak is not a party to any transaction between users. We don't inspect items, verify condition, guarantee delivery, or arbitrate the underlying sale — the confirmation and dispute process described in Section 7 exists to help resolve disagreements about whether a transaction happened, not to referee the quality of what was sold.
• Posting, editing, and browsing listings is currently free for everyone. We may introduce paid seller tiers in the future (which would only limit how many listings you can have active at once, never how many times you can sell); if we do, we'll update these Terms and give notice before any billing begins.

When you create a listing, you confirm that:

• You own the item, or you're authorized by the owner to sell it, and you have the legal right to sell it. This is a condition of using the Platform, not a formality — knowingly listing an item you don't have the right to sell (including stolen goods) is a serious violation of these Terms and may be reported to law enforcement.
• The listing accurately describes the item's condition, specifications, and any defects to the best of your knowledge.
• The photos are of the actual item being sold, not stock photos or images of a different unit.

We may remove any listing, without notice, that we reasonably believe:

• Is for an item the lister doesn't have the right to sell, including suspected stolen goods;
• Is fraudulent, counterfeit, misleading, or duplicated across multiple postings;
• Involves an item that's illegal to sell or transfer in Jordan (including but not limited to weapons, drugs, or counterfeit goods);
• Violates any other part of these Terms.

Alongside anything already prohibited by Jordanian law, you agree not to:

• Create more than one account, or an account using false information;
• Harass, threaten, or attempt to defraud another user;
• Use the Platform to collect other users' contact details for unrelated marketing or spam;
• Scrape, crawl, or automatically extract data from the Platform;
• Circumvent the messaging system to avoid moderation, or contact a user who has blocked you;
• Post content that is defamatory, obscene, or discriminatory, or that infringes someone else's intellectual property;
• Interfere with the normal operation of the Platform (attempting to bypass security, spamming listings, etc.).

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules, at our discretion, with or without notice depending on severity.

Computarak provides in-app messaging so buyers and sellers can coordinate without sharing personal contact details up front. For your safety:

• Always meet in a public place for the exchange.
• Inspect the item and confirm it matches the listing before paying.
• Never pay in advance, or send money before seeing the item in person.
• Report any listing or user that seems suspicious using the in-app report feature.

These are safety recommendations, not guarantees — Computarak cannot control what happens once you leave the app to meet someone, and use of the Platform to arrange or complete a meetup is at your own risk.

Either the buyer or the seller can mark a completed sale, but only with someone they've actually messaged about that listing:

• If the seller marks it sold and tags the buyer, the buyer is asked to confirm or deny it happened. If the buyer denies it, the mark is reversed with no further review — we have no way to verify a sale after the fact once the seller no longer has the item, so this direction has no appeal.
• If the buyer marks it as purchased, the seller is asked to confirm or deny it. If the seller denies it, the buyer can appeal by submitting photo evidence of the item (matched against the listing) to our support team as a dispute. We'll review the evidence and may override the denial if it clearly supports the buyer's claim.

Reviews for a transaction only unlock once it's confirmed (directly, or through a resolved dispute).

We make reasonable efforts to resolve disputes fairly, but our decisions on disputed transactions are final and are not a substitute for legal remedies you may have against the other party.

After a transaction is confirmed, both parties can leave a rating and review of each other. Reviews must reflect a genuine transaction and your honest experience — fake, retaliatory, or unrelated reviews may be removed, and accounts that post them may be suspended.

You can report a listing or user you believe violates these Terms, and you can block another user to stop them from messaging you. We review reports at our discretion and may remove content, warn a user, or suspend/terminate an account as a result. We are not obligated to explain our moderation decisions in detail, though we'll generally tell you why your content was removed or your account was actioned.

You keep ownership of the listings, messages, photos, and other content you post ("Your Content"). By posting it, you give Computarak a license to display, store, and distribute it as needed to operate the Platform (for example, showing your listing photos to other users, or including your listing in search results). This license ends when you delete the content or your account, except where we need to retain something for a legitimate purpose (like evidence in an unresolved dispute, or as required by law).

Don't post anything you don't have the rights to, and don't post anything that infringes someone else's copyright or trademark.

The Platform is provided "as is." We don't guarantee that listings are accurate, that items are as described, or that any particular transaction will go smoothly — those are between the buyer and seller. We don't guarantee the Platform will be available without interruption or error-free.

To the maximum extent permitted by Jordanian law, Computarak is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Platform, or from any transaction between users. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law (for example, liability for fraud or willful misconduct on our part).

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make a material change, we'll post the update here with a new "Last updated" date and, where practical, notify users in-app. Continuing to use the Platform after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the Platform will be handled in the courts of Jordan, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
